Tudor art Competition

Tudor rose artwork

Karen Shandley, author from Coventry, is holding an Art competition open to all children from 8 - 11 years old who live in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Children can win a bundle of arts, crafts, reading and writing materials as well as the opportunity to display their artwork in the Schoolroom itself.

Children are asked to create a piece of Tudor artwork on either an A4 or A3 piece of paper and send them to Karen by June 21st 2024.

To encourage further learning, facts about the picture should be entered into the competition on a separate piece of paper. For example, if the artwork depicts a Tudor market, some accompanying facts may include: "Some Tudor markets sold newly discovered fruits and vegetables such as potatoes or tomatoes". Entries should include an email address for contact but no other personal details.

We have included a couple of samples to give you inspiration, in the gallery

The entries will be judged and winners announced on the week commencing July 15th via Karen's Instagram page, as well as our own. From that point onwards the winning entry will be framed and displayed in the guildhall throughout the summer.

This competition is open to all of those local to Stratford in school years 4, 5 & 6 so get creating! we look forward to seeing your entries soon!
