2021: Santa at the Schoolroom

Santa at the Schoolroom

Think of one of the most magical buildings in Stratford-upon-Avon, add a little sprinkle of fairy dust and the result is Santa at the Schoolroom. This enchanting family experience will be taking place for the first time at Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall, with a selection of dates throughout December.

Santa and his elves will be transforming Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall into an unforgettable Christmas experience full of festive highlights. Visitors will embark on a journey that will take them throughout the building, with lots of Christmas characters to meet along the way including Santa, who will be making himself at home by the huge fireplace in the Master’s Chamber.

A festive quiz gets things underway in the Guildhall, where fun-loving Puck will be sharing riddles and Thursday the Elf will be telling an interactive Christmas story.  The Georgian Schoolroom will be full of traditional Christmas craft activities and games. And the Christmas revelry will truly ensue with a ‘What the Dickens?’ encounter in Shakespeare’s Schoolroom with Mr. Charles Dickens, in which you’ll need to pit your family’s wits and skills in this gameshow style escapade.

Lindsey Armstrong, General Manager of Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall, says, “This Tudor building is oozing in festive charm so we are delighted to be able to welcome families for a wonderful experience.  Santa and his team of elves have thought of every detail to ensure that special memories are made for everyone this Christmas.”

The team behind the magic of Santa at the Schoolroom are story creators extraordinaire Tell Tale Presents theatre company. Taresh Solanki one of the co-founders of Tell Tale Presents says, “Santa at the Schoolroom is a marvellous location for the whole family to come together and create some unique memories regardless of age you just need a sense wonder and fun, to paraphrase my good friend Mr Dickens, ‘Christmas is a time for all conditions of people: little and big, young and old: yet growing up or already growing down again’.”

Tickets for Santa at the Schoolroom are £10 per person (under 2s go free) and can be booked at ShakespearesSchoolroom.org. Well behaved dogs are also welcome. The whole experience lasts between one hour and one hour and 20 minutes. Everyone participating will receive a small token gift from Santa.
