Explore the Traditions of Shakespaere's Schoolroom & Guildhall this Mother's Day

Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall in Stratford-upon-Avon is giving mums some VIP treatment this Mother’s Day (Sunday 31 March), with free entry when they pay a visit to the place where young Shakespeare was educated.

For anyone looking for a unique way to celebrate with their mum, Shakespeare’s Schoolroom offers an engaging and interactive experience, particularly for any literature or history loving mothers!  The visitor attraction explores the early life of William Shakespeare in the very place where he was educated as a boy, giving people the chance to wander through the Schoolroom, explore the Master’s Chamber and even take centre stage by sitting in the Master’s Chair.  All has been carefully and authentically re-imagined as the setting would have been in Shakespeare’s day.

Families of all ages will love getting hands on with exhibits, putting their brains to the test with some Shakespeare-style schoolwork, and experiencing a lesson under the authoritative command of the Tudor ‘Master’!

The Schoolroom’s award-winning team of volunteers help illuminate Shakespeare’s schooldays, giving a fascinating insight into his early life and influences, all leading the way to him eventually becoming the world’s greatest playwright. The atmospheric medieval building is itself a treasure trove of history, with gems of Tudor art and architecture to uncover, as well as its role at the heart of civic life in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall is open daily from 11am to 5pm, with last admissions at 4:30pm. Quote ‘Mums Go Free’ at the Ticket Desk for free entry for your mum on Sunday 31 March 2019.
