“We are absolutely delighted to win the award for Small Visitor Attraction of the Year.  This reflects the incredible work our staff and volunteers do to make a visit to Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall a world-class visitor experience.  The West Midlands is an area rich in cultural attractions, so to win an award in this prestigious company is truly thrilling.”

The Judging panel visited the Schoolroom in secret on the run up to the ceremony. They reported;

"This was a very memorable visit – the volunteers and staff clearly care about the attraction and what it offers - emphasising with real passion the fact that William Shakespeare attended school here and what he learnt was instrumental in shaping his future. It gave a real ‘wow factor moment."

The West Midlands Tourism Awards comprises 14 categories and the winner from each will now take its place in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2024 for the chance to be recognised as a national winner.
